Assembly of the three-sided aluminium box
The basic frame of a radiator cover usually has the shape of a three-sided box with an open side. The sides and the front are clad with a metal mesh, panel material, or other materials. For "dead" radiators, panel material can be used as cladding.
If the heating is still in operation, it makes sense to choose a permeable material. This prevents heat from accumulating and allows it to spread freely in the room.
Cladding the casing for the radiator
For a beautiful yet functional radiator cover, many different options are available. Due to good heat conduction, metal or aluminum are particularly suitable as ideal materials for a radiator cover. In this way, the radiant heat of the radiator is optimally and almost loss-free transferred to the room. This is not the case with wood. However, wood is particularly suitable if the radiator is also intended to serve as a seating surface in the interior. For a light visual screen, on the other hand, a simple rattan weave is sufficient as a radiator cover.
