Our raised bed cover can basically be placed on any bed. Even though this raised bed cover is designed to match our raised bed construction manual, it can be used on any type of bed, whether raised or at ground level. A raised bed attachment ensures rapid warming of air and soil.

Under the protection of the cover, your plants thrive much earlier or longer than in an open raised bed. Protected from harmful weather influences, the gardening season can start early and be extended into late autumn. This is because the warmth inside the raised bed is ideally stored by the sun's rays.

Required materials for DIY at a glance

To build a raised bed cover yourself, you will need aluminum square profiles, corner connectors, multi-wall polycarbonate sheets (hardware store or specialist retailer), hinges, and screws (hardware store/ironmonger).

DIY Guide: Build it yourself step-by-step

Step 1:

Lay out the connectors and the aluminum square tubes for the hinged lid. Drive the connectors into the aluminum square tubes and construct a "U". For this, connect the two aluminum square tubes each with a connector and connect these with an aluminum square tube.

Note:Always drive all connectors onto a firm and non-resilient surface.

Step 2:

Slide the multi-wall sheet into the double web of the aluminum square tubes. Make sure to note where the UV side of the multi-wall sheet is (identifiable by the sticker here).

You can easily remove any resulting plastic shavings with a utility knife.

Step 3:

Now connect the two connectors to the aluminum square tube and close the "U" with the inserted multi-wall sheet. Place the lid aside.

Step 4:

For assembling the lower frame, get your connectors and aluminum square tubes for the base ready again...
