The modular plug-in system from ALUSTECK® can be combined with many different materials such as coated chipboard, glass panels or plastic panels. How this visually appealing shelf furniture in the form of an attic slope shelf works and is built with our plug-in system, we show you here with these building instructions for building a shelf yourself for an attic slope.
DIY Sloping Roof Organization System from 25x25 mm Aluminum Profiles & Connectors:
Build your own sloped ceiling shelf Step 1: Determine the dimensions for the width, depth, and height of your desired shelf under the sloped ceiling. We recommend first determining the width, then the depth. Once this is done, you can measure the rear height dimension to then determine the desired front height dimension. In our example shelf for the sloped ceiling, we use a depth of 400 mm and a length of 500 mm.
Build your own sloped ceiling shelf Step 2: When determining the height dimension, you should measure the shelf in such a way that approximately 10 mm distance to the rear wall is maintained and you measure vertically from the floor up to the sloped ceiling (see Sketch 1, Image A). For our example shelf, we take a height of 700 mm.
Build your own sloped ceiling shelf Step 3: Now, the desired depth of approximately 400 mm of the shelf is added, and the height of the sloped ceiling is determined (see Sketch 1, Image B). We recommend a spirit level or a large square for vertical measurement. For our example, the determined height is approximately 1000 mm. Now, the measurement between point 1 and point 2 must be determined. In our case, this is 470 mm. Now, the shelf is divided into height dimensions according to the desired level (see Sketch 2, Image A).

Structure of the shelf made of aluminum profiles and connector elements:
The right choice of aluminum profiles for the shelf inserts:
By selecting the aluminum profile versions, it is determined where your self-built shelf should be clad or receive shelves. The suitable aluminum plug-in system size for our shelf for the sloped ceiling is the 25 x 25 x 1.5 mm aluminum plug-in system. For our example shelf, we choose 4 pieces of the 25 x 25 mm anodized aluminum square tubes with 1 web / 21 mm. We need these to be able to insert the shelves later. Otherwise, for the rest of the construction of the sloped ceiling shelf, we use the simple anodized aluminum square tubes without webs.
