A self-built rack allows you to adapt the storage space optimally to your needs and the available space.
Step 1: After you have ordered all necessary Alusteck products for the shelf body in our online shop, the goods have been delivered, and you have the construction plan at hand, the assembly and installation of the shelf system begins.
The materials from our range
The aluminum plug-in system, consisting of aluminum profiles delivered directly to your desired dimensions and plug-in connectors, allows you to build your own garbage can enclosure in any size and design. With our materials, the garbage can enclosure is fully designed for durability.
Step 2: First, begin with the assembly of the shelf sides. To do this, first arrange all pipes and connectors or joint connector versions that are needed on a cloth or blanket according to their respective types. Set the remaining components aside for now. You will need these at a later point in time for connecting the two shelf sides.
Step 3: When building the shelf side panels, it is advisable to gradually fix the individual pipe pieces with the joint connectors with outlet and the right angles with outlet for the corners using screw clamps or toggle clamps. Assemble all parts gradually as shown in the picture.

Step 4: Once the shelf sides are fully assembled, insert the designated tubes, which serve as connectors for the two side parts, one after another into the connectors of one shelf side. It does not matter which shelf side you wish to start with. Please only pay attention to the uniform alignment of the webs at the correct angle, which will later serve as supports and guide rails for the multi-purpose boxes.
Step 5:Once all connecting struts have been inserted, the second side panel of the shelf is inserted into the openings of the tubes, and the connector pins are firmly tapped in with a rubber mallet using light blows. After attaching the second side panel and precisely aligning the tube sections in a straight line, tighten the connector screws firmly with an Allen key. For a straight alignment and to align the individual tube sections, it is advisable to use a lath or a long square tube, which is attached to the shelf side panel with screw clamps or toggle clamps.
Step 6: Now the screw feet for leveling out floor unevenness are screwed into the lower threaded connectors so that the shelf stands securely later at the installation site and cannot wobble.
Step 7: The flat profile cross braces are attached to the shelf sides to stabilize the frame using self-tapping metal screws, which are screwed in from the inside, on both the right and left sides of the shelves, with a cordless screwdriver.
Step 8: This is what the correctly assembled shelf structure should look like. The aluminum tubes with web must be inclined at the same angle to each other. The fixing screws of the joint connectors must be tightened firmly with an Allen key so that the shelf structure stands stably.
Step 9: For shelf security, we recommend fixing it to the wall with metal brackets. To ensure the shelving system stands firmly and securely, screw these flat-profile angle irons to the shelf from the outside again with self-tapping metal screws. If needed, you can also use simple metal brackets from a hardware store and develop your own fastening solution.
Step 10: Now you can insert the shelf into the top of the shelf unit. Please refer to the PDF construction plan for the dimensions of the shelf. For the shelf, use a commercially available coated chipboard, which you can have cut to size at any timber merchant or DIY store.
Step 11: Place the suitable storage boxes or all-purpose containers into the shelf compartments. When arranging the boxes and containers, you can proceed entirely according to your own needs and wishes.
