“Everything must have its fixed place. Nothing must slide around and fall out. The cargo space in my van should be optimally utilized.” Emil N., a craftsman from Kempen, had clear ideas when he showed us his Volkswagen T5. Instead of wild clutter and poor space utilization, he wanted a flexible, lightweight, and cost-effective interior setup for the cargo area, with which he and his team can neatly store and transport tools, materials, and their machines.
VW T5 as workshop van with ALUSTECK®
The suitable vehicle interior for every car – that's what the ALUSTECK® system is known for. One of the most "sought-after" models is the VW T5 panel van with a fixed bulkhead as a separation between the cargo and passenger compartment. Emil N. also uses this widespread transporter and tradesman's vehicle in his company.
Together with him as a practical craftsman, we at ALUSTECK® developed an exactly fitting vehicle interior and organization system. As an example of how the individual conversion of a tradesman's vehicle can be achieved quickly, easily, and cost-optimized.
At ALUSTECK® you order the material for your project like a kit, directly configured to your desired dimensions:
Measure, plan, draw. First, we developed a custom-fit shelf for the passenger side that extends from the tailgate to the door cutout and covers the wheel arch. On the driver's side, an L-shaped shelf was used, which now utilizes the entire length of the vehicle laterally and, with its horizontal aluminum struts at the front, mirrors the shape of the tailgate. In total, the system offers space for 21 Euroboxes in various sizes, a compressor, 8 different tool and machine cases, ten material boxes, and three large storage areas.
Installation made easy
We now offer this exemplary ALUSTECK® plug-in system as a kit with all associated components. You can order the complete construction plan for the vehicle interior directly from us, including the corresponding parts list. Of course, you are also welcome to change and adapt individual details according to your individual needs. After your order, we will manufacture the individual elements to the desired dimensions. A few days later, you will receive a complete package with all aluminum profiles and connectors. You can easily assemble these with the help of our assembly instructions - and then furnish your T5 van with them.
The system in the T5 fulfills several criteria. The maximum payload of the van is hardly affected due to the lightweight components of the ALUSTECK® system. Both shelves stand securely and cannot tip over. To prevent the boxes and cases from slipping, they rest on ledges and abut an aluminum profile at the front edge. The annoying wheel arches have "disappeared". The craftsman can now reach the entire load with a single movement; all tools have their fixed place in the vehicle.
