Step 1: Planning

When building a room divider, careful planning is the key to success. Start by choosing the ideal location in order to achieve the room layout and functionality you want. Measuring the area precisely is then crucial in order to establish the correct dimensions for the room divider. These precise measurements form the basis for a design that ensures the best use of the available space.

Step 2: Choose the room divider design grid

Step 4: Assembly

Assemble the structure carefully. The plastic mallet comes into play to drive the connectors precisely into the profiles and thus create a reliable joint. This step calls for accuracy and care to ensure that all elements are correctly aligned and firmly joined, guaranteeing a solid, well-made room divider structure. Make sure the parts interlock firmly to create a stable and durable structure.

Step 5: Fix the inner structure

The spigot flanges of the inner aluminium structure are screwed to the outer frame of the room divider from the inside. Make sure to fasten the flanges securely and firmly. Accuracy and care are required here so that the spigot flanges are fitted precisely in the right position on the outer frame. This fastening makes the room divider not only functional but also visually appealing.

Step 6: Mount the wall fixing

Now it is time to fit the wall mounting. Attach the wall flanges to the wall and secure them firmly by screwing them on. If it is a masonry wall, please also use wall plugs. This crucial step anchors the room divider firmly in the desired position and gives it reliable support. Make sure the flanges are fixed to a stable surface and that the screws are tightened firmly.

Step 7: Slide in the room divider frame

Now insert the room divider frame into the wall flanges you fitted earlier. It is important that the frame slides securely and snugly into the flanges and that the room divider is firmly attached to the wall. Once the frame is in place, check that it sits securely and level, to create a solid basis for the remaining steps of the room divider assembly.

Step 8 (optional): Mounting shelves

To build a room divider with shelves you need our special furniture connectors. They secure the shelves to the horizontal profiles and provide stability and a firm hold. For the shelves themselves, choose a wood of your choice and have it cut at a DIY or specialist store to exactly the internal dimensions of the room divider grid. You will also need wood self-drilling screws for a secure connection between the furniture connectors and the shelf boards. The screws should be long enough to ensure a secure joint without penetrating the surface of the shelves. Place the shelf on a stable surface. Determine the positions at which the furniture connectors are to be fixed, as shown in the illustration. They should be spaced apart by the thickness of the profile. Mark these positions with a pencil on the underside of the shelf. Now position the furniture connectors in pairs at the marked points. Use a screwdriver or cordless screwdriver to fix the furniture connectors securely to the shelf with suitable screws.

Step 9 (optional): Insert the shelves

If you have opted for additional shelves, you can now integrate them into the structure. Carefully place the shelves in the intended positions. Make sure the shelves sit firmly on the intended brackets. This extension adds functionality to the room divider and lets you organise and arrange it according to your needs.
