Building instructions - Step-by-step build Campingbox Module (1) - Camper bed only connected to Module (2)
First, we build the body of the camping box for the drawer module with backrest and full extensions. Once this camping box is fully assembled as described in these building instructions, it can already be used to sit comfortably in a micro camper or transporter van, store utensils, and even prepare meals by integrating a gas stove in the drawer pull-out. The whole thing will later be expanded with another box variant that also serves as a bench and, in conjunction with the drawer camping box module, can be extended to a complete sleeping surface, i.e., a camper bed. However, the camper bed is only created by connecting it with the Camperbox Module (2).
Please note: You need a total of 4 boxes for the bed function. Two times the Campingbox Module (1) and two times the Camperbox Module (2). The multifunctional do-it-yourself camping box system including bed function for easy motorhome / camper conversion with ALUSTECK® is individually adaptable to almost all vehicle models. In combination of the two different camping box modules 1 and 2, you get seating, storage space, cooking and washing facilities, and in no time at all, a perfect and comfortable bed as an overnight accommodation. Step 1: Instructions Camping Box Module (1) Drawer Module Body
Order all products in our online shop in the required dimensions and designs as described in the bill of materials. Arrange the components accordingly as shown in the exploded view drawing.

Now assemble the desired base module of the camping box – with or without a backrest – by inserting the connectors into the aluminum square tubes, as shown in the illustration on the left, and firmly tap them in with a rubber mallet. ATTENTION: Aluminum square tube (A4) without web is absolutely necessary for the pull-out side. On the back, an aluminum square tube with a double web is used for the cladding. Only the front side, when using the aluminum profile without web, allows the drawer to extend.

Modules as a bench with storage
Two different camping box modules — one with a backrest and drawer runner, and one without a backrest but with storage — are combined into benches.
Self-build modules as a rear kitchen
The modules with drawers can be turned into a practical kitchen block with an integrated sink, storage space, gas cooker/hob and worktop.
Modules 1 and 2 for bed function
The boxes can easily be combined and extended into a bed. To do so, simply place the padded backrests over the middle space to create the sleeping surface.
Step 2: Mount the full extension drawer slide and fasten it to the carcass
2. For the construction of the drawer system of the camping box, we need, among other things, the following materials: heavy-duty slides, aluminum flat bars, self-tapping screws, as well as threaded screws with nuts and washers. Tip: Use clamps to fix the full-extension drawer construction to the carcass.
2.1. Order the full-extension drawer slides at https://www.teleskopschienen24.de/schwerlastauszug-1755719-900mm ↗ or from another retailer of your choice.
2.2. Take the six (F1): aluminium flat bar 25x3mm and, as shown in the illustration, drill all the intended holes with a 4 mm metal drill bit.
2.3. Pre-assemble the slide rails with the flat profiles using suitable screws with nuts. Use threaded screws 4x25mm with nut and washer for this.
2.4. Use a 3 mm thick panel of your choice as a spacer to help with the assembly. It ensures a uniform stop at the rear end of the slide. Screw (F1): aluminium flat bar 25x2mm with self-tapping screws to the aluminium body as shown in fig. 2.4.

These items are recommendations and are not part of the ALUSTECK® delivery range. ATTENTION: The height (300mm) of the panel for the backrest depends on the space between the boxes so that the panel can also serve as a middle section for the bed. Therefore, the ideal dimension must be calculated individually depending on the vehicle model! Dimensions here apply to the Nissan NV200.

Now also assemble the drawer pull-out by re-inserting the connectors into the aluminum square tubes and firmly tapping them in with a plastic hammer.
Step 4: Attach drawer carcass, insert shelves and clad
4.1. Screw the drawer body to the heavy-duty slides with self-tapping screws. Make sure the flush fit matches the illustration.
4.2. Then insert the shelves at the bottom and top or only at the bottom, depending on your needs and intended use.
4.3. Place the front panel in the frame and pre-drill. Drill exactly into the plug connectors of the slide module. CAUTION: please proceed very carefully here.
4.4. So that the screws sit nicely flush afterwards, it's best to work the front panel with a countersink after drilling. Apply silicone for better hold and a nicer finish to the end faces of the drawer fronts before mounting the drawer front. Now fasten with the 4 self-tapping countersunk screws, 3.5x13mm.

Step 5: Final assembly of the camping box
5.1. Fit the backrest construction onto the bench body and drive it in with a plastic hammer.
5.2. All 3mm cladding panels that can be fixed directly to the profile web are fastened using silicone: it's best to set several dots rather than one long strip. TIP: Place the dots on the outside of the web so that nothing can leak out into the visible area.
Step 6: Assemble seat plate and backrest
Rubber stoppers are screwed into the corners on the back sides of the backrest plate and the seat plate. This prevents the multiplex plates from slipping and ensures a secure hold on the frame. For this, use spacer sleeves Ø 20x10mm.
6.1. Saw the seat panel recess. So that the intermediate part has a bearing surface, the panel is set back a little as shown, thus providing space for a panel between two opposite modules.
6.2. To fix them, attach spacer sleeves on the back of the seat bench and backrest (Z2) . ATTENTION: When attaching the spacer sleeves to the backrest, please make sure the stoppers don't get in the way when the panel is placed in the middle area to create the lying surface.
Upholster and install the bench seat and backrest. Done!

FAQ: Camping box drawer module (1)
Module 1 can be used on its own as a seating and storage solution. For a lying surface, however, module 2 is needed, which connects to the backrest of module 1. This creates a continuous and stable sleeping option.
The construction consists of ALUSTECK® aluminium profiles, plug connectors, wooden panels and a drawer slide with guide rails. These materials ensure stability and durability.
The drawer slide offers practical storage space for camping accessories and equipment. Thanks to telescopic rails, it runs smoothly and allows easy access, even when the seat is in use.
The backrest not only provides comfort but later serves as a connecting element between module 1 and module 2. This creates a stable lying surface for the camper conversion.
Not as standard, but you can add a latch or a lock afterwards to store valuables securely.
