Building instructions Camperbox Module (2) build yourself - Bed function only possible together with additional modules
The desire to build a camper box yourself and transform your everyday vehicle into a camper is now easily possible with a manageable budget. With a camping box, you can prepare entire menus for the family on the go in your everyday car with just a few simple steps, thanks to such a mobile, stylish kitchen. But a camper box for easy DIY building has many other advantages. It is cheaper than ready-made off-the-shelf camping boxes. This is mainly because the working time does not have to be paid for. Furthermore, when building a camping box yourself, the size can be adapted to the corresponding space requirements in the vehicle. These camper box building instructions show you step by step how to easily do it yourself and get a comfortable bed in conjunction with the Camping Box Module (1).
Please note: You need a total of 4 boxes for the bed function. Two Campingbox Modules (1) and two Camperbox Modules (2).
Step 1: Camping Box Bench Seat Body Module (2) build - Assembly
First, check the space available in your vehicle and make sure that the example box truly offers the desired functionality and fits your vehicle. If so, order the listed material in our online shop. At ALUSTECK®, you can easily configure and order all products in the required dimensions and designs online. Assemble all components for the camping box as shown in the exploded view. The frame is now complete.

The Campingbox Module (2) can only be converted into a camper bed in combination with the Campingbox Module (1). The assembly of the box's basic frame is very simple: firmly tap the connectors into the aluminum square tubes, according to Figure 1.1., using a rubber mallet. NOTE: The aluminum square tubes without web (A1) are only required for the back – this will not be clad and remains open. All other aluminum square tubes with 10mm double web (A2-A5) are used for attaching the camper box cladding to the outer sides (Step 2.1.).
Options in combination with Module (1) and Module (2) Camper boxes
Modules (1) and (2) as benches
The practical camping box modules (1) and box (2) are combined as benches in the vehicle's load compartment, as shown in this example. However, the camper boxes can also be used individually.
Drawer runner with kitchen block
Module (1) with a drawer runner serves as a kitchen box. Integrate a sink, storage space and a gas cooker or hob, and turn the camping box into a practical kitchen box for travelling.
Camping boxes as a sleeping surface
By combining box (1) and (2), you get a camper bed in just a few steps. To do this, the backrests of camper box module (1) are inserted as a middle section between the boxes, creating a sleeping surface.

These items are recommendations and are not part of the ALUSTECK® delivery range. ATTENTION: The height (300mm) of the panel for the backrest depends on the space between the boxes so that the panel can also serve as a middle section for the bed. Therefore, the ideal measurement must be calculated individually depending on the vehicle model! Measurements here apply to the Nissan NV200.

Step 2: Clad the body of the camping box
2.1. All cladding panels (3mm thick) for the camper box body are inserted directly from the outside onto the webs of the profiles. Fastening can be done very easily using commercially available silicone. It is best to apply several dots of silicone at regular intervals instead of long sprayed lines. Then press the panels firmly.
TIP: Apply the silicone relatively far towards the end of the web. This prevents the silicone from potentially "overflowing" into the visible area of the exterior cladding when pressing the panels.

Step 3: Final Assembly - Prepare Seat Plate
On the back of the multiplex plate, fittings in the form of spacer sleeves are screwed into each corner of the bench seat plate for camping box module (2), as shown in figure 3.2. The spacer sleeves prevent the bench seat from slipping and ensure a secure hold on the camper box body. You can also find the suitable spacer sleeves in our online shop under the category Alu Plug-in System Accessories.
3.1. As shown in the illustration from above, the panel does not sit fully flush on the interior side. The protruding area of the Camper Box profiles towards the interior thus gives you the necessary place to rest the centre piece if you want to use module (1) and module (2) as a camper bed.
3.2. So that the seat panel does not slide around later, spacer sleeves are fixed on the back of the multiplex panel (Z1) by screwing them on, as shown in fig. 3.2. ATTENTION: When attaching the spacer sleeves, please make sure that the position of the "stoppers" sits roughly flush against the profiles when the panel is in place.
Practical: Camping box storage is suitable for Euroboxes
By using Euroboxes, you achieve ideal storage space utilization in the camping boxes. The Euroboxes fit exactly into the body and can be inserted from above and removed again after the seat plate has been removed.
Upholster the seat plate and place it on corpus module (2). Done!

FAQ: Camping box module (2)
Yes, module 2 can be used as a single bench with storage space. However, its full functionality as a lying surface only comes about in combination with module 1.
The modules are stably connected to each other by the removable backrest of module 1. This creates a continuous and level lying surface.
Module 2 consists of ALUSTECK® aluminium profiles, plug connectors and wooden panels for the cladding as well as the seat. The building instructions include a detailed materials list
The storage space is optimised for the use of Euro boxes, which are easy to remove and put back. This keeps the camper tidy and important items quickly within reach.
A self-built camping box can be individually adapted, is usually cheaper than ready-made solutions and offers flexible use. It can also be adapted to different vehicle sizes.
