DIY Trailer Shelf Systems with ALUSTECK®
The basic principle is simple! The construction elements for the aluminum frame consist of aluminum profiles and square plug connectors. These can be assembled like a modular system into all conceivable constructions by simply plugging them into each other. Build this trailer shelf according to our instructions or plan it completely individually. Thanks to the modular design, you can build it to any height, width, or depth.
The number of shelf compartments can also be realized with a little technical understanding. All construction elements for the shelf frame are available in our online shop, precisely cut to size. You can buy the Euro containers at any hardware store. Simply follow the procedure summarized here in broad steps for building the trailer shelf:

Step 1: Preparation for building with the building instructions for trailer shelves
Before you think about assembly, start by determining the desired installation location for the shelving system in the trailer. This is followed by precise measurement for the total width, height, and depth. Note down the measurements. These are necessary for planning and for the later precise determination of the profile lengths and corner connector elements.

Step 2: The right choice of Euroboxes and shelf containers when building it yourself
The shelving system grid developed by one of our customers is precisely matched to so-called EURO standard containers (Euroboxes). When using our building instructions, always pay attention to the exact container sizes specified by Alutec. If you want to use individual sizes, you must adapt the building instructions to your desired dimensions. When building shelves with the Eurobox shelving grid, you have the option to easily build your shelving system to any desired height or width. If desired, supplement the shelf with other series entirely in your own design. The aluminum profiles with double webs serve as shelf inserts and guide rails for the Euroboxes. You can obtain the transport boxes from Alutec in well-stocked hardware stores such as Toom, Bauhaus, Metro, Globus, C+C or Markant.
Step 3: Determine aluminum profiles and connectors for the shelf
In the next step, you determine the required aluminum profile cross-sections and the corner connector designs that you need for your trailer shelving system construction. Here you have the option to choose from aluminum profiles without a web, with one web, or with a double web. Aluminum profiles with one web, for example, later enable you to insert shelves, while profiles with double webs are used as guide rails for inserting Euroboxes. When choosing the corner connector elements, you can select from star shapes, right angles, joints, and T-pieces with and without an outlet.
Step 4: Instructions for assembly and construction of the trailer shelving system
Order all products cut to the millimeter in our online shop. The easy part and the joy of DIY follow. For this, lay out the individual construction elements on a blanket on the floor so that all parts are in their rightful place. Then start either with assembling the vertical sides or the horizontal levels. The assembly of the trailer shelving system is done by tapping the connectors into the profiles with a plastic hammer.
