Especially in open floor plans, small apartments, offices, or multi-functional rooms, well-designed room dividers help to create clear zones.

With ALUSTECK®, room dividers can be implemented individually. The Alusteck system, consisting of high-quality aluminum profiles in custom sizes and matching connectors, can be easily combined with any panel materials. This creates room dividers that not only match the interior but can also be precisely adapted to the existing dimensions and desired use.

Customize and securely fasten room dividers

With the ALUSTECK® configurator, you plan your room divider to match your idea, your space, and your desired dimensions. You determine how large the construction should be, which shape suits your application area, and how the room divider will be used later.

So that the room divider can be securely used as a partition wall, the construction is fastened appropriately depending on the room situation. For example, a side wall mounting is possible, or a solution where the room divider is clamped between the floor and ceiling. This creates a stable partition wall that visually separates open areas, creates more structure, and at the same time remains securely positioned in the room.

Particularly practical is the flexible combination of aluminum profiles, connectors, and freely selectable panel materials. This allows you to adapt your room divider visually and functionally – for example, open and light, partially closed for more privacy, or with surfaces that harmoniously blend into your interior.

Which type of fastening is sensible depends on the desired size, the application area, and the structural conditions. ALUSTECK® offers a modular basis of aluminum profiles for this, which can be custom-planned and implemented to suit the respective room situation.

Optional: prepare shelves for the room divider

If you would like to add shelves to your room divider, you will need our Furniture connector . These are attached to the underside of the shelves and provide a secure hold on the aluminium profiles.

Important: shelves are not part of the ALUSTECK® system. You have to make them yourself or have them cut to fit the internal dimensions of your room divider.

Fix the furniture connectors in pairs with suitable wood screws to the underside of the shelf. Make sure that the screws do not penetrate through the wood.

Position the connectors to match the profile spacing and then insert the prepared shelf into the room divider.

Optional: integrate glass panels into the room divider

For transparent or semi-transparent panels you can use glass panes with matching stainless steel glass holders fasten to the vertical aluminium profiles. The visible holders with rubber inserts ensure a high-quality integration of the glass surfaces.

Note: Choose the holder to match the actual glass thickness. Glass panes and glass holders are not part of the ALUSTECK® basic system and must be selected to suit the respective room divider field. For large or room-height glass surfaces we recommend safety glass and professional planning of the fastening.

Optional: prepare shelves for the room divider yourself

If you would like to optionally complement your room divider with shelves, you will need our special Furniture connector . These are fastened to the shelf boards and later ensure that the shelves rest securely on the horizontal aluminium profiles of the room divider and are held stably.

Important: shelves are an optional addition and not part of the ALUSTECK® system. They cannot be ordered from ALUSTECK®, but must be made by you yourself or cut exactly to the internal dimensions of the respective room divider grid at a DIY or specialist store from a wood or panel material of your choice.

You will also need suitable wood screws to securely fasten the furniture connectors to the shelf boards. Make sure the screws are long enough for a stable connection, but do not penetrate the surface of the shelf.

For fitting, place the shelf on a stable surface. Then determine the positions of the furniture connectors as shown in the illustration. The connectors are attached in pairs to the underside of the shelf and should be positioned so that they later sit to match the profile spacing of the room divider.

Mark the positions with a pencil and then fasten the furniture connectors with a screwdriver or cordless screwdriver. After assembly, the prepared shelves can be inserted into the construction of aluminium profiles and add practical storage surfaces to the room divider.

Depending on the room situation, clamping between floor and ceiling can be implemented. For this, the room height, structure and intended use must be taken into account appropriately so that the construction remains securely positioned.

Is the room divider an alternative to a drywall?

Yes, a room divider from ALUSTECK® can be a flexible alternative to the classic drywall. It separates areas visually from one another without a fixed wall having to be built straight away.
